You’d think that living in the country it would be fairly simple to photograph a bird, duck maybe a goose. I found out this week, it’s not….it’s not at all easy.
I can stand in my yard and here all these lovely little birdsongs, but do think I can actually see on e of these little birds? Nope…not even a hint of where they might be.
SO I jumped in my truck and drove down the road to a little beaver pond. I figured there would be lots of little ducks to take pictures of…well I was WRONG. When I pulled up all there was were these black and white ducks?? In all honesty I have no idea what type of water fowl they were.
Next challenge was the distance between us, it was pretty far. I figured if I hung around long enough they might swim back in my direction…..no such luck. SO I had to make do with the minimal zoom capabilities of my lenses. After about 30 minutes, give or take.
This was the best I could get. ![]()
Now be sure to check out the rest of our blog circle to see what my friends around the globe came up with for this weeks theme. http://www.blaylockfamilyfun.blogspot.com/

Robin Moore - Great patience on your part. Sometimes these creatures do not listen to our calls. Great try and love the shot.
Faye - Love the stillness of the water and the reflections you captured here. Looks so peaceful!
amy ames - Always in the wrong place at the wrong time. I thought it was going to be much easier than it was too. Lots of waiting. Nice work!
