Over the Easter holidays my family and I headed to the mountains for a week of some fun in the sun. We often travel to Fairmont, BC to take advantage of the beautiful weather and the awesome hot springs. This year my sisiter Tara and her family joined us, all the kids hung out, played in the sunshine and we the parents enjoyed some R&R as well.
Just south of Fairmont there is a local hotspring that is as natural as they get. Emerging from the rocky craggs of the river comes a very steamy supply of natural spring water. The road to get to this destination is a little hairy and can be scary for the less adventurous…..my sister let us know exactly how un-impressed she was with our choice.
Being a photographer I often have alterior motives when we are planning such excursions and well…this one was no different. You see the WhiteSwan Provincial park is located in the same area as the natural hot springs and the scenery is un-believeable, so I convinced everyone that we should do some family portraits while we were up in this beautiful valley, so that’s what we did. I had hoped for more of the snow to have been melted, but the higher we climbed the more I realized that we were just a bit early and there was still a lot of snow laying about, but we worked with what we had and I think they turned out pretty well. The sun was pretty high in the sky so it was challenging, but we came away with some really nice photos.
Have a look for yourself and be sure to share and leave a comment or two. I enjoy hearing what you have to say. ![]()
